| Bio: | Message of the Day:"Words can only hurt if you read them. Don't play their game." Zoolander.I seek the laid-back sugar momma, work is "the suck"Downloaded Microsofts Visual Web Developer Express 2005Here's the link. Procrastination is far from a character flaw. In fact, it is a fine artform that each individual can spend a lifetime perfecting Personal Quests, Endeavors, and Interests:Humor:Although I just recently became a fan, I get a kick outta the gaming geek humor in Penny Arcade. That brings us to my next and perhaps top entertainment bullet. Gaming:PC, Console, Tabletop Roleplaying games, and even roleplaying games over the net (thanks to Skype (just be careful not to use their web based in invite a friend links - one of my friends was showered with junk mail the next day) and Gizmo my personal favorite. Master Of Orion II: Battle At Antares is probably my favorite game of all time. I've also played a few MMORPGs Planetside, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes I briefly tried out Guildwars, Everquest, Everquest 2 but didn't find much enjoyment or exciting fun times to be had. I'm looking forward to this one Neverwinter Nights 2 I'm an old D&D junkie My good friend Aakin and I have been working for years on a set of roleplaying games (with some great input help from Eli and feedback from Gerry, Ryan, Paul, Dan, and Ronald Essel the normal non roleplaying critic) that are simpler to digest than the D20 miniature combat-esque games. It's called the Victus Roleplaying system and we've done a bunch of work on the science fiction concept we have called C.O.T.A. and the fantasy variant Legends although our modern day game is currently lagging in development it is still alot of fun to play. It'll take a few more hours of typing away to sync it up to the other systems. Look for a link to some information on the roleplaying games here soon. Philosophy/MeditationSo far I've mostly just been reading up on different subjects (Taoism, Buddhism) but I can refer a couple of my favorite books How to Practice a text translated by Jeffrey Hopkins from the Dalai Lama. A good beach read. Awakening the Buddha Within A story of the path of Lama Surya Das, it can get a little too instructive at times (so many methods, goals, ethical rules, mantras, etc.) but you can get some real pearls from this one. By the way I'm a meatatarian so it's unlikely I'll follow a strict Buddhist path anytime soon, but I sure do like some of the broader views on existence they have. The Art of Happiness by Howard Cutler, very interesting psychological examination of the power of buddhism on state of mind and positive outlook. Pandora's Star While slow to start out, this book has very intriguing character threads. The way the story flows together and ties everyone in is highly enjoyable and kept me reading even though I haven't read a book for fun in years. Most enjoyed Cinematic Creations a.k.a. Movies and TV seriesEquilibrium This one just had great action and was totally under the radar after my favorite movie of all time Matrix. Although my friends disliked the sequels, I have to say I enjoyed the trilogy for the world setting and super heroic action. Very well orchestrated and creative ideas made this series truly great. Another favorite of mine Willow really gave me a sense of wonder and adventure. I have to say it's my favorite fantasy adventure movie. Who wouldn't love to live in a town of Pecks.. er Nelwyns. Gotta give a tip of the hat to Farscape one of my favorite tv series. Glad to see Ben Bowder working on Stargate SG1 now although his character hasn't fully developed yet. Give him another season to hit his stride. Musical GoodnessWhere do I begin... ugh here's a list of some of the recent songs I enjoy Ambient list and Other goodies My tastes vary from Ambient (most recent musical addiction) to Drum and base to techno to a number of hip-hop artists including my multi-musically talented brother Ron, here's a Sample of his music. Other Links I likeMy buddy Eli's homepage of wonder. Jeanie's site Ultra talented photographer and friend since I was a munchkin-> just don't ask her about the incident where I tried to steal her big wheel back in 1979, rumors abound about a certain person biting her in the butt Dharma Talks by Lama Surya Das Huxley and the Doors of Perception Great survey in math, Mathworld AI Depot, where are my AI tools? Get cracking guys! Wikipedia they have some great community driven information flowing here. Stuff I'm looking forLaid back attractive young philosophical women, if you meet any send them my way Historical stock data, if you have access to a free database let me know! Virtual Reality after all this has been done up in movies for twenty or so years Tron came out in 1982 what's the hold up tech-meistros? Another great film with VR was Lawnmower Man kind of a Flowers for Algernon type story. | |||||
